Your hope found... in the Bible, God's Word for all of us

Living Hope Presbyterian Church is a body of believers firmly committed to the truth of the scriptures of the Old and New Testament, which we hold to be God's inspired truth, relevant for all times and for all people.

OUR DENOMINATION

We are a member congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC), a Bible-believing denomination founded in 1936 and today with more than 300 congregations throughout the United States and Canada, and foreign mission works in Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America. The OPC was founded with a focus on the teachings of the Bible in the tradition of the Reformation of the 17th century, including the doctrines of the inspiration and authority of Scripture, the virgin birth of Christ, and the substitutionary atonement of Christ.

The Bible is our primary standard (the only infallible rule of faith and practice). All other standards and traditions are secondary, that is to say, subordinate to the Bible.  The Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms (1647) are an outstanding summary of Christian doctrine. Officers in the OPC take a vow to "sincerely receive and adopt" these confessional documents as containing the system of doctrine taught in the Holy Scriptures.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
— 2 Timothy chapter 3, verses 16 & 17

THE APOSTLES' CREED - a great summARY OF CORE CHRISTIAN BELIEF:

I believe in God the Father Almighty,
      Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the virgin Mary.
      He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      was crucified, died, and was buried;
      he descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
      He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the holy catholic* church,
      the communion of saints,
      the forgiveness of sins,
      the resurrection of the body,
      and the life everlasting. Amen.
